The moment I understood my yogic path was the moment I realized that as I could shift consciousness on the mat, I could shift consciousness off the mat. Yoga is life and life is yoga. I practiced various styles of hatha yoga over the years as a form of physical exercise, but in 2005 I finally understood that this was the path I had been seeking in order to help me understand how to live, breathe, and experience some of the biggest questions I had asked myself my entire life: Who am I? Where do I go from here? How do I hold on to my center in the midst of a seemingly chaotic world? The practice of yoga taught me something so much more important than trying to answer any of these questions; it taught me how to live these questions.
In the spring of 2007, I completed my first 200-hour teacher training at YogaWorks with Jeanne Heileman and Carmen Fitzgibbon. In the fall of 2009, I completed my second 200-hour teacher training in the style of Anusara Yoga with Marc Holzman, Tara Judelle, Tiffany Fraser and Noah Maze. I currently teach 5 group classes a week all over Los Angeles and work with a private clientele of both individuals and groups working in film, television, health care, education, design, government, hospitality and more.
I teach what I discover. Above all, yoga is a practice. I am continuously learning, exploring and discovering the depth of my own truth. My classes are infused with power & stillness: combining elements of strength, sensitivity, breath awareness, alignment, energy focus, curiosity and spirit. I strive to provide a foundation...a discipline...a structure...for students to celebrate their individuality from the remembrance of a “Bigger Picture.”
Many thanks to all my teachers: John Friend, Tara Judelle, Marc Holzman, Lucy Bivins, Noah Maze, Tiffany Fraser, Jeanne Heileman, Ducky Punch.
